Plant City Garden Club Holiday Gathering

The Plant City Garden Club held their Holiday Gathering and Pot Luck Luncheon this year at the lake house of Lisa Firm our Club President. Plants were exchanged and a pot luck lunch served. There was even a pontoon boat ride around Lake Nellie with Lisa’s husband Keith at the wheel of the boat narrating as we went along. It was a day of fun, laughter, and socializing.

Plant City Garden tours Busch Gardens

The Plant City Garden had a special tour at Busch Gardens in March.  Their guide took them on a guided tour of their amazing topiaries.  The day included lunch and plenty of free time for shows and rides.

2019 Annual Flower Show

Meet our Award winners for this year’s show!

The annual flower show for 2019 will be held in conjunction with Pioneer Heritage Day on Saturday November 9, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. till 3:00 P.M.  The location will be at the Plant City 1914 High School Community Center; 605 N. Collins St. Plant City, Fl.33563.

This year’s show title is “Jungle Mania”. We invite you to come, enjoy the activities of Pioneer Day and our exciting flower show.

As always both events are free to the public.

2020 Plant City Garden Club Annual Garden Fest

The 2020 Annual Garden Fest & More this year promises to be bigger and better.

The event will again be at the Plant City Train Depot and museum, 102 North Palmer St in beautiful Downtown Plant City.

Garden Fest will be held on September 26th  from 9:00 A.M. till 3:00 P.M. The event is free to the public and parking is also free. This is an event you will not want to miss with everything for your fall gardening needs; lots of plants, garden art and accessories as well as antiques and crafts all located at the train depot and McCall Park.

The Plant City Garden Club is currently taking vendor reservations for Garden Fest. Interested vendors do not wait to get your reservations in, as space is limited.  Application forms can be found on the Plant City Garden Club’s web site .

It was a beautiful picture perfect  evening at the home of  Jan Griffin for the end of the year pot luck dinner, awards ceremony and installation of Officers.

Awards were given to the following members:
  • Garden Clubber of the Year was Sally Murphy.
  • Flower Show’s People’s Choice Award  went to Bonnie McSharry.

Congratulations Ladies!

Out going President Lisa Firm  thanked everyone for everything the Club had accomplished  during the past two years; a successful Garden Fest ETC, a very well attended flower show and all the hard work with the Strawberry Festival, Junior Gardeners and Butterfly gardens. Lisa then gave special recognition  to her board members for all their support  and hard work.
The Officers for the years 2019-2020 were installed by Lisa Firm which had a theme of Herbs.

Wade Collins awarded Scholarship from PCGC.

 The Garden Club awarded a  $1000.00 scholarship to Wade Collins.  Home schooled by his mother and earning an associates degree upon graduating High School he will entering college as a Junior at Warner University, Lake Wales, FL. He will be majoring in Agriculture and someday he would like to work in farm management or for the U.S. Sugar Company in Cleweston, FL

It was picture perfect day as 60 people attended the Spring Garden Tea in the  Mason’s beautiful gardens
The tables were decorated by garden club members and all were quite lovely Cindy Card and her daughter Stephannie were enjoying the day and chatting.

2020 Garden Fest Vendor Sign up

Plant City Garden Club is planning its 12th annual Garden Fest & More on September 26th from 9:00 A.M. till 3:00 P.M.  It promises to be bigger and better than ever. The Garden Club will be featuring vendors with everything for your fall gardening needs from plants to garden art and accessories.  All vendors will be located at the Train Depot and Museum.

Garden club installs new officers

It was a festive evening for the Plant City Garden Club with a pot luck dinner and fellowship on May 9th.
The highlight of the evening was the installation of the officers for 2014-2015 by Awards Chair Mikie Snyder.
