A group of ladies, belonging to the Woman’s Club, with a love of gardening began gathering to further their knowledge in horticulture. The Club was organized in the name of Plant City Garden Club in 1948 with the purpose of members and quests to learn and teach horticulture, conservation, flower arranging, botany, litter control, pollution and civic beautification. Members also began attending the University of Florida Short Course annual classes for three days with topics on horticulture and design.
The Plant City Garden Club meets September and May. Meetings are held on the second Monday of the month, at 10:00am. December and May meetings are held in the evening, at 6:00pm, and include a Pot Luck Dinner. Spouses are invited at this social time to celebrate either the holidays or our installation of officers.
Board meetings are on the 1st Monday of the Month at 10:00 A.M. at the Plant City Chamber of Commerce, unless otherwise noted. General Meetings are on the 2nd Monday of the Month at 9:45 A.M. at The Plant City Photo Archives & History Center; 106 South Evers St., unless otherwise noted.
